Crowdsourcing Schematic

ARTIST STATEMENT

The Improvable website would be a hub for improvers and the people who could supply them with great ideas. My main focus for the website would be on flash mobs who perform choreographed dances in public places, whether to make a statement or just in the spirit of stirring things up. There would be two groups, one of idea generators and another of performers who went out and put those ideas into practice. I would also include another sub-hub, directed towards the more political side of things. In particular this second, smaller hub would be to serve in the Wall Street Occupiers movement. The prototype website above shows how I would set up and design this interface.

  2. Very interesting project. I think that I mentioned this in class...but if you had a few regular characters that played out these "flash mobs" and people started to catch on...it would create a reality show like audience and could become huge.
People tend to become attched to those they watch on television and or the internet (just look at the JShore folks) and this is audience script writting so VERY DIFFERENT than what is out there!

  4. Jessica,
Your project really embodies the idea of fine art crowd sourcing greatly. I'm excited by the idea of participants creating their own communities with the intention of interventionist projects. These ideas and actions always seem to make our world a richer place. Your interface is user friendly and I think it reflects the variety of audiences you are looking for. Great idea and great job!

  5. Great idea. The only thing I would change; I'd add something to the background. But the concept itself is really good.

  6. I think this idea could really go far. It is a kind of project that would get in the public's face and I really like that. Would people just submit ideas or videos? or both?

  8. This is a great idea and your page looks awesome. I think the only problem you might run into is getting the initial participation in order to inspire others to submit something. Maybe that's what Sarah was saying. Once you get the first couple submissions, this could really turn into something spectacular!

  9. You already know this a great idea, my only suggestion is to work on the web design a bit.
